“Tiger Trapped?”

The boys and I took this shot at the Smithsonian Zoo in DC. One asked, “There is nothing but a moat separating us, so why doesnt he just jump out?”. I mumbled something incomprehensible at the time but having  thought  some more, Perhaps he had tried several times and failed, or maybe he was taken captive as a cub and couldn’t make it out then and so thought he couldn’t now. He was trapped in his heart and by extension in his mind. Many times we are just as trapped in our situations. You’ve applied for that promotion or job or taken that exam so many times and have been rejected just as many, you have tried to quit that addiction and just can’t get out. Once hope dies in your heart the chances for break through dim significantly; disappointments can be just as devastating so the tendency is to quit and not bother. There is a Hope that doesn’t disappoint. His name is Jesus, and though things might not pan out how you expect you’ll never be disappointed in his Love.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:3‭-‬5 NLT http://ift.tt/2yfW1IR
