On the Path to Easter

Today is good friday, growing up I was always perplexed about naming a day someone died as Good. The bible teaches that the Lamb of God died in our stead to give us a path to salvation. Like most Christians, I’ve had a nominal view of him. We worship from afar and interact from afar, remember Peter after Jesus had be arrested? We’re in the vicinity, in close proximity but never too intimate. We don’t want to get too close as not to be asked to do too much, for what it will cost us in the currency of time or reputation. I’ll say a prayer or two for you but won’t look into your eyes or ask your name. This easter lets get our hearts closer to the saviour (like the bottom picture), we’ll discover that our perspective changes. People become his dear children and no longer strangers, lets see the world from the master’s vantage. He loved us so much he gave all, he wants us to reflect that love to others. As you draw closer, I think you’ll find that what he wants you to do isn’t some arduous task but a rejuvenating mission, in fact he provides the strength and grace, he just needs the willing hearts and hands. Happy Easter all Come close to God, and God will come close to you.
Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. James 4:8‭, ‬10 NLT https://ift.tt/2GYFBXo
