BRIDGE SERIES 004 Eerie Basin Bridge, Salford, Manchester UK

The divine order of things is that light always follows periods of darkness. Day follows night, sunshine follows rain and hope, heartbreak. I like to think of these intermissions as periods of REST. Short bridges remind me a lot of this phenomenon. You are only on it for a brief time but the scenery here is so much better.
The beauty all around us belies the struggles we are facing and causes us to smile again with hope. We wish it would last forever, but it is only temporary until the next fray begins. We have to take them as times for RESTORATION. Recharge your spent batteries with these gifts. They are sparks of eternity, to help us gain a new albeit renewed perspective of what it is that we have been promised at the finish line. Reminders of whatever it is we are striving for. They are vaccine booster shots to increase our resilience in the fight for our hopes and dreams.
They are periods of REVIVAL. They are times of laughter with friends and family. They are statements of innocence from our children. They are cold showers on a hot day; a good night’s sleep; a 24 hour period without any calamity. They are an uplifting song or a moving movie that makes you cry. They are periods of RENEWAL for your soul.
Don’t gloss over them, leave your anxiety and worry outside for just a minute and enjoy. You’ll be better prepared for whatever comes next…
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 NLT
